Supplier Diversity is an important pillar of the State Farm Diversity and Inclusion Framework

Our Program

The mission of Supplier Diversity at State Farm is to identify and encourage equal opportunities for certified diverse businesses to contribute to our overall goal of providing quality products and services to meet our customers' needs at competitive prices.

At State Farm we track and report Tier 1 and Tier 2 spend with certified diverse suppliers to increase opportunities and measure the program’s impact.

A Message from Our CEO

Michael L. Tipsord

The State Farm® "Like A Good Neighbor" theme is more than an advertising slogan. It's a way of life for State Farm associates. We are there -- when our policyholders have a question, when they have an insurance need and, most importantly, when they have a loss. We are there with friendly, helpful, personal service to keep the promises we've made. Our business partners are an important part of helping us honor our commitment to policyholders. We are dedicated to developing partnerships with suppliers who share our goal of providing quality products and services and are as diverse as the policyholders we serve. State Farm promotes including businesses owned by minorities, women, and persons with disabilities in our selection process. I strongly support our company’s Supplier Diversity Program. I encourage everyone with purchasing responsibilities to consider diverse suppliers in their decision-making process.

What is a Supplier Diversity Certification?

Certification is the process by which an organization verifies, using a combination of screening interviews, site visits, and capability studies, that a business is owned by a minority, woman, or diverse group. State Farm accepts certification from national, state, local organizations, and government agencies.

Vendors must be certified diverse in order to participate in State Farm’s Supplier Diversity program.

Suppliers

Once your application has been received, the information your company provided will be entered into the State Farm Supplier Diversity Database. Information relative to the products and services that your company provides will be made available to State Farm Purchasing employees as well as to other associates throughout the company. If there is a match between the products and services your business provides and our procurement needs, you will be contacted by a State Farm associate. It is important that you keep your data up-to-date. If there are changes to your contact information, capability statements or any other information relevant to your business, contact us at supplierdiversity@statefarm.com.

Tier II

Tier 2 Spend is measured in dollars State Farm's suppliers spend with diverse suppliers whose products and/or services cannot be identified as directly supporting the products and/or services the State Farm supplier is providing to State Farm. A supplier’s own diverse spend on operating supplies and maintenance services are some examples of Tier 2 Spend. Tier 2 Reporting is due to State Farm by our suppliers 30 days following the end of each quarter.

Diversity and Inclusion. It’s how good neighbors work.

Making where we work and live better.
