Our Program
The mission of supplier diversity at State Farm is to identify and encourage equal opportunities for certified diverse businesses to contribute to our overall goal of providing quality products and services to meet our customers’ needs at competitive prices.
At State Farm, we track and report tier 1 and tier 2 spend with certified diverse suppliers to increase opportunities and measure the program’s impact.
As of year-end 2023, our tier 1 spend was $343M, with a total economic impact of $710M. More than 4,5001 jobs were created or maintained
Who is eligible?
A diverse business is a for-profit enterprise, regardless of size, that is at least 51% operated and controlled by a diverse classification. The business must be located within the United States or trust territories.

An organization is verified using a combination of screening interviews, site visits and capability studies to determine a business is owned by a minority, woman or diverse group. State Farm accepts certification from national, state, local organizations and government agencies.
Vendors must be certified diverse to participate in the State Farm supplier diversity program.

Suppliers
Once your application has been received, the information your company provided will be entered into the State Farm supplier diversity database. Information about the products and services your company provides will be made available to State Farm purchasing employees and other associates.
If there is a match between the products and services your business provides and our procurement needs, you will be contacted by a State Farm associate. It’s important to keep your data up to date. If there are changes to your contact information, capability statements or other information about your business, contact us at supplierdiversity@statefarm.com.
Tier 2 Spend
Tier 2 suppliers provide tier 1 diverse suppliers with products or services. An example of tier 2 spend is the dollars a State Farm diverse supplier spends on operating supplies or maintenance services from a diverse supplier.
Tier 2 reporting by suppliers is due to State Farm 30 days following the end of each quarter.

Frequently asked questions about supplier diversity
A business must be at least 51% owned and controlled by minorities, women, veterans, service-disabled veterans, people with disabilities or the LGBTQ+ community to be eligible to participate in the supplier diversity program at State Farm. In addition, your business must be certified with a local, state, national or government organization.
Suppliers must be certified diverse to participate in the State Farm supplier diversity program. These certifications must be done by an independent third party. Certification does not guarantee a contract with State Farm. Contact supplierdiversity@statefarm.com with any certification questions.
The State Farm supplier diversity team connects diverse, qualified suppliers with the right procurement specialist and business area to help with the purchasing process. Once a match has been established you will be contacted by the appropriate procurement specialist.
